The recently crowned U23 National Champion, Ellen Noble is one of the best Cyclocross racers in the world. She currently leads the world cup standing in women’s U23 and is a multi national champion in cyclocross and mountain bikes. She also recently signed with the Colavita Bianchi team for 2017 and rides for Aspire Race Team and USA Cycling for Cyclocross. She has been raising eyebrows with some impressive results at World Cup events and the World Championships. Originally from Kennebunkport Maine, she grew up at a young age racing bikes. She has also done motocross racing, high school running and was known to play a mean cowbell in band. Currently living in the Netherlands to race and train, she is forging an uncharted path for many aspiring cyclocross racers. She talks about some of the major differences between the cross scene in the United States compared to Europe. As someone who prefers riding sections rather than running them, she feels that much of her skill can be tested at the sports highest level. While she is away from many of her friends and family in the States, she talks about how she kind find comfort and solitude in a faraway place. While in many ways she is very much alone, she stresses the relevance of going all in. She believes that in order to be a success she needs to embrace and live the life of someone who puts themselves into the practice of the sport in Europe. She also sees herself as somewhat of a role model to future riders new to the sport. She shares her life on social media but also expresses her frustrations, vulnerabilities and many highlights she goes through in a season. While her best years and possibly results are yet to come, Ellen is embracing going all in to the sport. This is an uplifting episode that every cyclist should listen to!
